The Sun Still Shines

On holding onto hope

I feel the air growing colder
The darkness fills more hours of each day
The wind stirs up chaos around me
It feels like an omen of what’s to come
I fear what the future will reveal
Yet this I know for sure

The sun still shines

So I’ll pause and let the light wash over me
I’ll feel the warm rays on my skin
I’ll close my eyes and turn my face toward its glow
Allow the orange light to dance behind my eyelids
Let its brilliance ignite a fire inside me
A flame that will sustain me through the changing of the seasons
That will spark me to stand and speak and move
That will fuel me to love

The sun still shines
Let it shine in me
